On October 22-23, 2013 at RAS building has been held First International Forum “RENEWABLE ENERGY: TOWARDS RAISING ENERGY AND ECONOMIC EFFICIENCIES” (REENFOR-2013).
REENFOR-2013 was initiated by Russian Academy of Sciences, Non-Profit Partnership "Scientific-Technical Council of the Unified Energy System", and Non-Profit Partnership "Agency of Scientific and business communications".
REENFOR-2013 was supported by "RusHydro", Russian Foundation for basic research, UNESCO Regional Bureau for Science and Culture for Europe, Venice (Italy), International Financial Corporation (IFC), Russian Venture Company (RVC), The Committee on Energy of the State Duma, and other partners.
The Forum was attended by over 400 representatives of science, education, business, federal and regional governments, and international organizations. Over 60 experts from 20 foreign countries, more than 50 Russian and foreign young professionals, students and graduate students have participated at REENFOR-2013.
Forum held in close cooperation with the Russian Technology Platform: "Prospective technologies of renewable energy sources", "Small-scale distributed power projects", “Bioenergy" and "Eco-friendly, high efficiency thermal power" with direct participation which forms the domestic government policy in energy development, including with the involvement of her eco-friendly renewable energy sources.
The Forum concluded 8 agreements on the establishment of scientific, technical and commercial cooperation between the participants of the Forum, including international. A lively discussion of projects proposed for implementation in the framework of the federal target program of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, "Research and development on priority directions of scientific-technological complex of Russia" and "Scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel of innovative Russia" for 2014-2020.
The successful holding of the Forum showed that has been created an effective platform for the discussion of qualified scientific and technical issues, share experiences and develop evidence-based recommendations for the executive and legislative authorities, energy companies and businesses in the priority areas of renewable energy development in Russia based on the results of Russian and foreign research and development in this field, the practical application of the best practices of renewable energy in the country and in the world.
